Anthony King's Volunteer Blog December 2022

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to my Christmas blog of 2022

Some of our services by now will have already had their Christmas lunch, followed by lots of festive activities such as a disco organised by our staff to the very people we support for Christmas this year.

New Leaf had a Christmas Fayre on the 3rd December and on the day, they had a great number of visitors who came and there were lots of Christmas goodies on offer which was followed by a group from Southport called “Stringalong” who provided us with lovely folk music, (the videos will come soon). Thanks to everyone who attended our garden centre, we raised in total £840.00 which we are so grateful for.

Our drama group New Centre Stage put on a Christmas show called “The Modern Nativity” and it went down very well indeed with our audience. The video and pictures will be coming soon.

Finally, from everyone here at New Directions, we wish all our staff and service users a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Cheerio, and I will see you in 2023.

Tony King’s 8th Volunteer Blog

Hi Everyone,

Welcome all to my eighth blog, here at New Directions.

Now that our newsletter will be out soon, it is now called “Reflections”

Thanks to our staff and service users who came up with the new name this will be on our newsletter from now on.

It’s been a busy period with more activities going on across all our services, as the busy Christmas period is about 2 months away, we had last week a fundraiser for Macmillian coffee morning held at our Waterloo Park service and they contributed £290.40 so thank you all who took part in the event.

World Mental Health Day was held this month and we held events to reflect this, we at New Directions really help people who use our services.

Our YouTube channel is progressing well as more visitors are viewing the site, we aim to get more subscribers to this exciting new venture.

So, cheerio for now, see you next month.

Tony
